ALCHEMY GOLD INGREDIENTS
Six key ingredients, with recognized health benefits, are used to pack a real flavor punch. Alchemy Gold contains no additives or colour and is dairy, lactose and gluten free. Please read on for a profile of each of our specially selected ingredients.
Curcumin
As the main ingredient, curcumin (the active compound in turmeric) is a powerhouse of health benefits. It is a strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory which can help improve the adverse effects of arthritis, prevent serious illness, reduce high blood pressure and help remove aluminium from the body. Curcumin is also a natural liver detoxifier and may help with gut health. It has long been used in Chinese medicine as a treatment for depression and has been shown to protect brain function.
Black Pepper
Black pepper is an essential inclusion in Alchemy Gold as its active component piperine aids the bioavailability (or absorption) of curcumin – the magical active compound in turmeric. It is a storehouse of health benefits which can strengthen immunity and fight infection. Black pepper is packed with Vitamins A,K and C and minerals such as calcium, potassium and sodium. It is also rich in healthy fats and dietary fibre which promotes weight loss and helps promote good digestion.
Another vital ingredient for bioavailability is a source of fat which we provide in the form of a blend of natural oils. This blend is a source of good fats which help to scaffold the absorption process. It contains Omega 3, Omega 6 and Omega 9 which reduce cholesterol and Vitamin E which is a powerful antioxidant needed for a strong immune system, healthy eyes and skin.
Many other turmeric based products do not include these two bioavailability support components.
Ginger
Ginger is one of our signature ingredients and has been used for its medicinal properties by Chinese and Indian ancient cultures for nearly five thousand years.
It is an effective digestive aid and a natural remedy for nausea. Ginger is praised for its ability to boost the immune system and its anti-septic properties which can help break down toxins and protect us against illness and bacteria. It may also assist in the management of high blood sugar levels.
After many long discussions with Ayurvedic experts we have arrived at a blend of spices that help with many health issues and provide our own distinctive spicy flavour.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar has multiple health- giving values. It is known to lower blood sugar levels and cholesterol, help with diabetes, kill many types of harmful bacteria, support the immune system and is rich in vitamins, minerals and enzymes, all of which are beneficial to the body. Apple cider vinegar contains chromium and acetic acid – both of which can help lower and manage your blood glucose levels (high blood sugar levels can increase risk of developing heart disease, stroke, vision problems and kidney disease and increase the signs of ageing).
Apple cider vinegar can also act as an aid to weight loss because of its appetite suppressing qualities. It contains probiotic micro-organisms which promote the growth of good bacteria in the gut which in turn are essential to maintaining a healthy immune system.
Honey
Honey is another ingredient high in antioxidants which can help protect against serious illness including heart disease. The anti-bacterial properties of this golden magic food promote healthy digestion and its anti-inflammatory agents fight allergy symptoms.
Honey provides a natural energy boost. It also great for sore throats and the common cold.
Citrus juices
Lemon and limes are an excellent source of Vitamin C, which fight free radicals, support the immune system and reduce inflammation. They are packed with soluble fibres which ensure the slow release of sugars in the blood stream. These fibres also help keep the heart healthy by regulating cholesterol and stabilising blood pressure.
